Cirexx International is an industry leader in the manufacturing of prototype and short run production Flexible Printed Circuits. Our Engineering & Design staff can assist Flex Circuit Designers and Packaging Engineers with design-application and review for manufacturability.
Flexible circuits have an advantage over Rigid FR-4 circuits in that they can bend, fold, twist and wrap in extremely tight areas, over multiple times. This provides designers freedom to locate parts together, that would otherwise not fit, and thereby reduce the packaging size of their products.
The most widely used flexible material today is manufactured by Dupont Corporation and is called "Kapton". This polyimide film based material is resistant to heat, has dimensional stability and a low dielectric constant of 3.6. There are three variants of the Kapton Material
Kapton Material Variants:
Pyralux LF (Acrylic Base Adhesive-Non Flame Retardant)
Pyralux FR (Acrylic Base Adhesive Flame Retardant)
Pyralux AP (Adhesiveness For High Performance Applications)
