Now Hiring: Quality Systems/Quality Assurance Engineer & Compliance Specialist
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Aerospace Defense Quality Systems/Quality Assurance Engineer & Compliance Specialist to maintain and improve our Quality Management System, support audit readiness, and ensure compliance with aerospace defense quality, customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements. This role partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Contracts, and Program teams to support AS9100 compliance, product safety, traceability, configuration control, mission-critical program execution in a highly regulated defense environment.
Duties:
– Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with AS9100, customer-specific requirements, and applicable contractual and regulatory expectations in aerospace defense programs.
– Support internal, customer, registrar, and government-facing audits by coordinating preparation activities, assembling objective evidence, tracking findings, and driving timely closure of corrective actions.
– Investigate non-conformances, escapes, supplier issues, and customer complaints using root cause and CAPA methods.
– Support document control, configuration management, change control, record retention, and product traceability.
– Monitor quality metrics and prepare reports for management review.
– Assist with supplier quality, calibration, compliance trainings, and defense-related quality system requirements.
Experience & Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience required.
– 2+ years of experience in quality systems, quality assurance, compliance, or a related role in aerospace defense, defense manufacturing, government contracting, or another highly regulated industry required.
– Experience with AS9102/FAI, Nadcap, special processes, supplier oversight, or aerospace defense documentation.
Knowledge & Skills:
– Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001, audits, CAPA, non-conformance management, document control, and change control.
– Familiarity with FAI, traceability, product identification, record retention, and source control expectations.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, Contracts and Program teams.
– Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic quality management or document management systems.
– Analytical thinking and sound judgement in high-reliability, mission-critical environments.
– Root cause investigation and corrective action discipline.
– Commitment to product safety, risk awareness, and continuous improvement.
– Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Contracts, and Program teams.
– Awareness of counterfeit part prevention, FAR/DFARS flow-downs, and ITAR/EAR-sensitive documentation practices.
Abilities and Other Requirements:
– Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job.
– This position requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency to meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
– Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, if required.

Compensation Package:
- Yearly pay $93,600.00 – $104,000.00 per year
